About Me

Hi, I'm Tali, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AASW) with over ten years of experience in mental health across both public and private settings. I specialise in perinatal mental health, supporting people through pregnancy, birth, early parenthood, and the emotional ups and downs that come with them. In addition to my private practice, I work at the Gidget Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that supports the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents.

The pathway to parenthood can change everything. For some people it brings anxiety, low mood or a feeling of being overwhelmed. For others, it includes loss, a difficult pregnancy or a birth that was frightening or traumatic.

Your relationships can shift and you may find that you don’t quite recognise yourself. For those who give birth, this shift has a name: Matrescence. Whatever it looks like for you, it can be hard to say any of it out loud, especially if you worry about being judged for not feeling the way you think you should. Whether you’re trying to conceive, expecting, newly postpartum or well into parenting, you’re welcome exactly as you are. I’m a mum of two and I know how big the transition to parenthood can be.

I draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), tailored to you. My approach is warm, collaborative and practical. We'll go at your pace, focusing on understanding what's happening, building skills that help and finding more self-compassion along the way.

If you're unsure whether counselling is right for you or whether we'd be a good fit, I offer a free 15 minute introductory chat. I'd love to hear from you.
